Friday Night Photo Dump | August & September 2015

It turns out I don't have a ton of random iPhone photos from the last couple months, but there are some memorable ones nonetheless.

The kids both had their official first days of school for this year (even though they are with the same teachers as this summer), which clearly had to be documented.

And I love this outtake.

Trying to beat the end-of-summer heat.

Post-bath sweetness.

Cheeeeese!

Family portrait by Ava (including the two dogs). I evidently have a mustache.

Chalk time. (Rylan only tries to eat it every two minutes, which is why this chalk comes in very handy).

Fun at Ollie's cowboy birthday party.

A date night to watch the Cowboys.
It was still too dang hot in Texas for a PSL in September. So, hibiscus tea was the drink of choice…plus a matching mani.

This boy is particularly happy whenever food is involved.

Sweet girl.

Pretty sure hanging this gallery wall took years off my life. I highly recommend using a staggered layout instead.

Every day when I pick this little guy up from school and we get in the car, he gets his NuhNuh and immediately lays his head down on my shoulder to snuggle. And all is right with the world.

First car-cart ride together. It's like driving a barge, but so worth it.

One of my new favorite workday dinners: baked sweet potatoes topped with crockpot chipotle chicken, spinach, and goat cheese.

Sunday morning milk and snuggles.

It's only fitting that Ava learned how to write "queso" on National Daughters Day. She is definitely mine.

My boys. Photo credit: Ava.

Ava decided to add her own decor to our fall mantle.

Sangria + cheese + patio + some of my best girls = a perfect night.

"Excuse me, sir. Can I please see your license and registration?"

T…C…U! (I have trained them well.)

Finally, this video is one of my all time favorites. We have no idea where she learned this phrase, but you better believe this will be played at her rehearsal dinner. "Hit it, boys!"

About Me

My name is Catherine, but most of my friends call me Cat. I was born and raised in Austin, went to TCU, and ended up in Dallas for law school (where Josh and I met). I decided that being an attorney was not my cup of tea and pursued a career in legal marketing. I am now a mother of two attempting to balance family with a full-time job, which is always an adventure. I love: my sweet babies, handsome husband, very large family, and fabulous friends; trying new restaurants; wine; TCU football; holidays; cooking; The Bar Method; pajamas; Topo Chico; reading; coffee; Central Market; carbs; the beach; mani/pedis; Anthropologie; binge-worthy TV shows and podcasts; trivia; French 75s; Pinterest; cheese boards; The Ticket; dancing; Sprinkles cupcakes; The Texas Rangers; fresh flowers; thunderstorms; naps; Tex-Mex; the Texas Hill Country; porch-sitting; ranch dressing; throwing parties; and my job. I hate: working-mom guilt; snakes; heights; waking up early; ignorant people; stomach bugs; paper cuts; green fruit; snoring; bad hair days; the sound of people eating (Misophonia); scary movies; bad drivers; pulpy OJ; trimming baby fingernails; and Miracle Whip. That pretty much sums it up.
